1138-What to Do When a Christian Sins Under Grace

(JP Text Group - Organized by Life Like an Eagle)
Let us pray together:
Loving Heavenly Father, we thank and praise you for your grace! Lord, we truly know that you are our great High Priest. You are different from the high priests of this world because you are the most perfect High Priest, and you are also the most perfect sacrifice before God, without blemish. Lord, you are now governing God's house in your capacity as High Priest. In all our churches, we have only one Master, and that is our Lord Jesus Christ.
Today, we want to truly stand on your word. Through your word, may we once again come to know you more deeply, understand the truth, and may the Holy Spirit lead us in the time ahead. We commit every brother and sister listening to your word into your hands, and we pray that you will renew our hearts! In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen!
The topic of today’s sharing is "What to Do When a Christian Sins Under Grace?"
Our scripture is Hebrews 10:10-25,
10 By this will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. 14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.
15 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, 16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,” 17 then he adds, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.” 18 Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin. 19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
By the will of God, through the offering of Jesus Christ's body once, we have been sanctified. Thank the Lord, we need to understand what Jesus has done for us to make us holy. It is that he offered his body. He completed the work of redemption, so at the end, Jesus said, “It is finished,” our sins have been completely cleansed.
Many people come before God and say, “Lord, today I have sinned again, please let your precious blood flow out and wash away my sins once more!” Is such a prayer in line with the Bible? Therefore, we need to see that the Bible does not teach this. If every time you come before Jesus, you need to confess your sins to God, then where does this come from?
Brothers and sisters, with this question, let us share God's word today.
As Christians under grace, under the New Covenant, we will still sin. Of course, if after believing in Jesus today we are without sin, that would be a false teaching. We will still sin today. But what should we do after we sin? How should we pray to God? This may be a question many people do not understand.
First Point: Jesus Offered Himself Once for Our Sins, Not Multiple Times
In Hebrews 9:25-26, it specifically mentions that,
Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own, (the original text says “not his own blood”). For then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world; but as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
This passage clearly tells us that under the Old Testament law, when people sinned, they had to use the blood of bulls and goats to atone for their sins. So how did the people under the Old Testament confess their sins? How did the Israelites under the law confess their sins after they sinned?
I think this question is rarely thought about because many people today hear the teaching that if you commit a sin today, you need to confess to God once, and then God will forgive you. Was there such teaching in the Old Testament?
Because the Israelites also sinned; they sinned every day. Every time they sinned, they had to bring a sacrifice to the priest. What if they sinned many times a day? If they had to offer almost all their bulls, sheep, and doves to God, then they should be the richest people in the world; instead, they should be the poorest. But what is the reality? Today, even non-believers see that Jews are among the smartest and wealthiest people in the world. So how did the Israelites in the Old Testament offer sacrifices and atone for their sins? Let’s look at Leviticus 16:20-22.
Leviticus 16:20-22 says,
20 And when Aaron has made an end of atoning for the holy place and the tent of meeting and the altar, he shall present the live goat. 21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the iniquities of the people of Israel, and all their transgressions, all their sins. And he shall put them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness. 22 The goat shall bear all their iniquities on itself to a remote area, and he shall let the goat go free in the wilderness.
On the tenth day of the seventh month, the Day of Atonement for the Israelites, what did the Israelites do? They all came before the tent of meeting, and Aaron, as the priest, offered sacrifices for the people.
Here we see that it is not recorded that each Israelite had to confess their sins one by one before God. What is mentioned here? The priest first atones for himself, and after he has made atonement for himself, he offers sacrifices for the people. What does he do? This is very important, and we need to find the answer in the Bible. He presents the live goat and lays both hands on the head of the goat, confessing all the iniquities of the people of Israel.
Then he prays to God, saying, “Lord! Today I pray on behalf of the people of Israel. I represent the people of Israel and transfer all their sins, all the sins of this year, onto this goat. Do you see? No matter what sins they have, all the iniquities, all the transgressions, all the sins of the people of Israel are placed on this goat. Then the goat is sent into the wilderness, and importantly, this goat bears all their iniquities.
It is not that each Israelite kneels before God saying, “Lord, I have committed this sin, please forgive me; Lord, I have committed that sin, please forgive me…” It is Aaron the priest who does this on behalf of the people of Israel, while the Israelites at that time are waiting. They are waiting for the priest to complete this series of atonement rituals before God on their behalf.
Thank the Lord, Leviticus 16:29 says, “And it shall be a statute to you forever, that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict yourselves and shall do no work, whether a native of the land or a stranger who sojourns among you.”
They are looking to what the high priest is doing, patiently waiting.
Verse 30 says, “For on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you. You shall be clean before the Lord from all your sins.”
They are not atoning for themselves. Many people get this wrong, thinking they need to atone for themselves before God. No, it is not you who does this; it is the priest who does it, to cleanse you from all your sins.
Thus, the Israelites in the Old Testament would transfer all their sins onto the goat once a year. This is a transfer of sin, and this is something that needs to be done every year. So, this is mentioned in the Old Testament as a sin offering that must be offered multiple times.
But today, under the New Covenant, under grace, it is not with the blood of bulls and goats, but with the body of Jesus Christ. Brothers and sisters, we must be clear that the blood of bulls and goats has a one-year effect, but why do many people think that the blood of Jesus Christ only has a less than one-day effect?
Brothers and sisters, the precious blood of Jesus Christ is effective forever! Amen!
Jesus does not offer himself every year; he does not need to be crucified again and again. No, his one offering is enough to pay the price for the sins of all humanity. Just like that goat, when it is offered, it can replace all the sins of the Israelites!
Thank God, we know today that the lamb mentioned in the Old Testament is Jesus Christ in the New Testament. So will you still sin? What should you do after sinning? What is needed is repentance, but we do not ask the Lord to wash our sins again because the issue of sin has already been resolved.
Because Christ has once offered his body, he has made you holy. Jesus Christ's one offering has already washed away all our sins, so the Bible tells us that we do not need to offer sacrifices for sin anymore, because his effectiveness is permanent!
Hebrews 10:18 says, “Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.”
His precious blood has already cleansed people's sins. This matter is completed once and for all and never needs to be repeated.
So, for those in Christ, you are justified today permanently. Amen! A saved person, if we today ask Jesus to let his precious blood flow out to wash away our sins, this clearly contradicts the redemptive work that Christ has already completed on the cross.
What we read in the text clearly states that Jesus Christ is, in fact, the better sacrifice, so he is not like the bulls, sheep, and doves of the Old Testament; he is the better sacrifice. Moreover, we just read that Christ does not offer himself multiple times, like the high priest who enters the holy places every year with the blood of bulls and goats.
If Christ's blood were the same as the blood of other animals, then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. This passage makes it very clear that if Christ's blood were the same as the blood of bulls and goats, then we would have to crucify Jesus once every year, and since the foundation of the world, he would have had to suffer repeatedly.
Hebrews 9:28 says, “So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.”
Let us look at how the high priest did it in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament, the high priest offered the same sacrifice every year for the sins of the people. Does Christ need to die many times today? No, the Bible tells us that he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin. It is very simple; to put away means to take away, to no longer have!
Moreover, Jesus took it away very thoroughly and very cleanly. He, with his mighty power, has taken away your past, present, and future sins. So the Bible says he appeared once and offered himself as that sacrifice, thus taking away the sins of mankind. Amen!
So the Bible tells us in Romans 8 that there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
This is why God does not condemn us, because we are no longer under the law; we are under the grace of Jesus Christ. Because Christ offered himself once, he has completely resolved the issue of sin, and because of the eternal sin offering that Christ has made, today God's righteousness is within you. We are all justified by faith in Jesus.
Even if you still sin, you will not be called a sinner; you are still a righteous person. Many people always think, “Lord, today I have sinned, so I am called a sinner; after I confess and repent, I will be called a righteous person again.” This kind of statement itself is not in line with the Bible. Today, we are called sinners not because we sin, but because Adam sinned. And sin has a characteristic: it is hereditary.
That is to say, when Adam sinned, all his descendants were called sinners. This has nothing to do with your behavior; it is simply because Adam sinned. So today, all the descendants of Adam in the world, as long as you are born of man and woman, you are all descendants of Adam, and you are all called sinners. Because you are a sinner, you will continue to sin. Many people today get this reversed, saying, “Because I keep sinning, I am a sinner.” God does not see it this way.
Today, we who believe in Jesus Christ believe that Jesus took our sins upon himself, became God's sacrifice, and bore the penalty for our sins. Therefore, we are no longer punished by God. Our past sins, present sins, and future sins are all because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross, transcending time and space. So when a person believes that he has paid the price for your sins, your name is transferred from under Adam to under Christ.
So what does John 1:12 say? “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
When we accept the Lord Jesus, our identity changes. Originally, we were descendants of Adam, and because Adam was sinful, all his descendants are called sinners. But when a person believes in Jesus, he is transferred from being a descendant of Adam to being in Jesus. So today, we are all called to be in Christ. Now we are the descendants of Christ. Because Christ is righteous, all the descendants of Christ are called righteous. This matter was completed by Jesus over two thousand years ago, and this is what we need to believe that Jesus Christ has done for us.
At the moment a person believes in Jesus, at the moment you accept him, all your sins are cleansed, and you have been washed clean by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit also dwells in you at that moment, and how long is the validity period? It is forever. Hallelujah!
Today, let’s think, if we still have sin, how could the Holy Spirit possibly dwell in you forever? This is clearly not in line with the Bible! The Holy Spirit cannot coexist with sin. All your sins have been cleansed once and for all by Jesus, and we are also justified once and for all. The Holy Spirit in your heart today is a testimony. Hallelujah!
Second Point: When Christians Sin, They Should Look Again to the Redemptive Work of Jesus Christ
Although we believe in the Lord, our behavior may not be good enough, or we may still sin many times. What should we do at that time? At that moment, you do not need to confess your sins; instead, you need to return once again to the presence of Jesus Christ. You need to look again to Jesus Christ and the redemptive work he has done for you, because by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.
We have biblical basis for this because in God's eyes, you are already perfect forever. We just read in verse 14 that because he offered himself once, he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.
This indicates a fact: now, no matter how the world sees you, in God's eyes, you are perfect, you are holy, you are pleasing to God. What does holy mean? Many people think that holiness means behavior has improved and no longer sinning. In the Bible, holiness means “you have been set apart.” The moment you accepted Jesus, you have been set apart by God from the world. You are not in the same category as the world; you are now a child of God. Hallelujah!
How God sees Jesus is how he sees you today. Because you are clothed in the robe of Christ. Through the blood of Jesus, we can boldly enter the holy places.
Many people may not understand what it means to boldly enter the holy places. What is the holy place? Here, let me briefly share with the brothers and sisters. In the Old Testament, God instructed Moses to build a tabernacle. The tabernacle had a courtyard, which was the place for sacrifices; there was the holy place, which contained the table of showbread and other items; and there was the most important place called the Most Holy Place, where the Ark of the Covenant was kept. Above the Ark of the Covenant was the mercy seat.
Every year, the high priest had one opportunity to enter the Most Holy Place with the blood of bulls and goats to do what? He had to atone for the sins of all the people of Israel. If God accepted the blood of the bulls and goats, he would speak to the high priest from the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant in the Most Holy Place. God's grace would flow down from the mercy seat, and then he would come out and tell the people, “God has accepted your sacrifices, and your sins have been completely forgiven.” Therefore, throughout the year, God would continue to bless you, and the heavens would send rain in due season, and your crops would be abundant, and there would be no enemies invading. Thank the Lord.
And all the high priests who entered the Most Holy Place had a characteristic. Here, let me share this passage with the brothers and sisters. The high priest wore a special garment, and this garment was directly related to his life.
In Exodus 28:33-35:
33 And on its hem you shall make pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet yarns, with bells of gold between them. 34 A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, on the hem of the robe all around. 35 And it shall be on Aaron when he ministers, and its sound shall be heard when he goes into the holy place before the Lord, and when he comes out, so that he does not die.
Do you know, brothers and sisters, when the high priest entered the Most Holy Place, he had a rope tied to his foot because they did not know if he could come out alive. They did not know if their sins had been completely cleansed. They might have thought they were completely clean, but God does not judge their sins according to their standards; God judges whether you have sin according to God's standards. If God finds their sin, they would die at that moment.
While the high priest was working inside, no one could go in! So they would listen outside. When the high priest moved inside, the bells would ring. If a long time passed and the sound of the bells disappeared, then there was only one result: the high priest had sinned and was struck dead by God. So what to do? People could not rush in, so they tied a rope to his foot before he went in. If there was no sound for a long time, they would pull him out of the Most Holy Place with the rope, and they would have to choose a new high priest.
This was the work of the high priest in the Old Testament. If this high priest was killed, the blessings for the people of Israel for that year would be lost. But on the other hand, if the high priest was not killed and was accepted by God, then he would receive God's abundant blessings at the mercy seat and would come out to bless the people. Hallelujah! Whether the people of Israel could be blessed by God was not determined by what they could do; their confession was useless. It was entirely determined by what the high priest did for them!
Today, Jesus is our high priest, and he is forever sinless, so he is forever accepted by God. When he offered sacrifices, he did not use the blood of animals but his own sinless blood, offered before God. Therefore, we can imagine that what comes from Jesus will always be abundant grace. Hallelujah! Because Jesus is our eternal high priest, he has overcome death, and he is alive forever, which guarantees that all who believe in Jesus are always under God's grace. Hallelujah, thank the Lord! Because this high priest—Jesus has offered the most perfect sacrifice to God,
So today, Hebrews 4:16 tells us, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Jesus opened a new and living way for us,
Verse 20 says, “by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh.” Hallelujah!
Today, we are clothed in the robe of Christ, which means we inherit the righteousness of Christ. All Christians do not need to confess their sins every time to come before God's throne of grace because our sins have been washed clean by the blood of Jesus. Thank the Lord!
This is why you do not need to go to Israel; God can fulfill your prayers, and God will surely hear your prayers because this is the way that Jesus' body has opened for us, reaching directly to the Father, and no one can block it.
Today, many people say that if you do not confess your sins before God, God will not hear your prayers.
They forget that every time we pray, we do not rely on our righteousness but on the righteousness of Christ. Why do we say at the end of our prayers, “In the name of Jesus Christ”? Because you are praying to the Father in the name of Christ. If you do not say that last phrase, “In the name of Jesus,” you are praying to God on your own. When you pray in the name of Jesus, your prayers will surely reach God. How willing God is to hear the prayers of Jesus, and how willing he is to hear your prayers today. Hallelujah, thank the Lord!
But someone may ask, “But we often sin in life! What should we do when we sin? Should we ignore these sins? Do we not need to acknowledge these sins?”
Beloved of God, we do indeed sin in life, but at this time, you need to focus on Christ. Looking at what Jesus has done will help you overcome sin, and you will also see Christ's forgiveness, mercy, and love for you. Two thousand years ago, Jesus already paid the price for your sins; what you need now is to repent before God.
We need to emphasize, what is repentance?
Many people tightly bind confession and repentance together. Some say, “Repentance is confession,” but in the original Greek, what does repentance mean? It means to turn your mind, to change your mind. In the Old Testament Hebrew, the meaning of repentance is even clearer; it means “to return to God's grace.”
Why do we sin today? Because you have departed from God's grace and are relying on yourself, resulting in failure and falling.
Today, to overcome this sin, repeatedly confessing is not the way to victory; we need to look to the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Simply put, you need to look again to the grace that Jesus Christ has given you, and through this grace, you can overcome sin.
Paul clearly tells us that there are two laws waging war within my body. As a result, I still sin. Paul says, “Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?” Paul says, “Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord, I can be delivered.”
The answer is clearly told in the Bible. Paul did not overcome by the law; he did not overcome by confession; he overcame through the Lord Jesus Christ. So today, the only power that allows you to overcome sin comes from the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, when a person sins and wants to overcome sin, you need to look again to the grace of Jesus Christ. This is what we truly need to do; this is the way of victory for us Christians. Thank the Lord!
If you do not know how to pray, today I will give the brothers and sisters an example. Do not treat it as a template for prayer. For example, if today you have sinned again during the day, you can pray before God, saying, “Heavenly Father, I have sinned again today, but thank you, Lord Jesus, for your grace. I know that this sin, you have already borne for me on the cross. You love me so much, and you already know that I am so weak, so I need your grace and strength every day. Heavenly Father, please give me strength, so that I can always look to you, and I can overcome this sin. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!”
When we continually turn back to the grace of Christ, sin will no longer have dominion over you because God's grace is greater than sin. Hallelujah!
People cannot overcome sin in life because we do not understand this truth. The more you rely on yourself, the more you will find yourself often bound by sin. The more you do this, the more you will fail. At this time, you need to learn to look to the victory of Jesus Christ. You can overcome in all things; the victory of Jesus is your victory. Thank and praise the Lord!
Finally, let me explain a difficult passage in the Bible, this difficulty is in Hebrews 10:26-31.
26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. 29 How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God!
Many people have read this passage, but perhaps many do not understand what this passage is talking about. Interpreting this passage under the law would scare people to death. Legalism often uses this passage to say, “If you believe in Jesus and then deliberately sin, what will happen to you?”
“Christian, if you know the grace of Jesus Christ and believe in Jesus, but you still deliberately sin, you better be careful; you will definitely be cast away by God!” We ask them where their biblical basis is. They say, “Read Hebrews 10:26 and onwards carefully, because if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.”
When people do not understand this sentence, it sounds so frightening! If a person deliberately sins, God will not forgive him, and he can only wait for hell. If you think this way, how many Christians can enter the kingdom of heaven? Who can still have hope?
If, according to what those people say, the sacrifice for sin is no longer effective for a person, then what is the point of confessing sins? You can only wait for hell.
If people hear such news, they will definitely say, “Forget it, don’t believe it. No matter how you believe, you can’t enter the kingdom of heaven.” At this time, those people will tell you, “Do you think the kingdom of heaven is that easy to enter? The Bible says that not everyone who says ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven!” When this is said, many people become uncertain about whether they can be saved. They have never had assurance of salvation.
Let us see what this passage really means.
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, this is a very important phrase here. A person who knows the truth has received the knowledge of the truth! Today, those who hear the word may include some who have not accepted Jesus. Today, you have heard my preaching; you have received the knowledge of the truth. You know that you were originally under Adam, and now when you believe in Jesus Christ, his blood can take away your sins, and God will not hold your sins against you. Apart from this, there is no other way for you to be justified forever. This is called receiving the knowledge of the truth. You have heard it, you have listened to it, you know it; this is how you have received the knowledge of the truth.
But people hearing does not mean they are willing to accept; hearing does not mean you are willing to believe. Not everyone who hears about Jesus is willing to believe in Jesus as Lord!
Thank the Lord, many people go to church, and they hear the truth, but that does not mean they will believe such a word just because they go to church! There is only one way; only when you accept it can you be justified by faith before God.
This passage talks about people who have heard the truth but do not take it seriously. What should they do, they still do what they want, and they deliberately sin. Brothers and sisters, have you ever thought about what kind of sin it is that makes the sacrifice for sin no longer available? There is only one sacrifice for sin in this world, and that is the body of Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
That is, people do not believe in Christ. If people do not accept this sacrifice for sin, then there is no other sacrifice for sin. Apart from Jesus, there is no other salvation. Verse 29 tells us, “How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?” This is their sin; the real sin is this: the sin of unbelief.
Brothers and sisters, these people do not believe that the blood of the Son of God can save them. They do not believe that the blood of Jesus has eternal saving power; instead, they treat the blood of Jesus as something ordinary, and some even regard the blood of Jesus as inferior to the blood of bulls and goats.
“Also, they outraged the Spirit of grace,” not acknowledging the work of the Holy Spirit, treating the work of the Holy Spirit as the work of the devil. Some people do not understand speaking in tongues but directly oppose it, saying that others are possessed by demons. But what if that is the work of the Holy Spirit? They are despising the blood of the Son of God and outraging the Holy Spirit, thus falling under the punishment of sin.
If a person despises the blood of Jesus, then all their sins will be revealed before God. They do not accept Jesus, and what awaits them is only judgment and the fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Because there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. If a person rejects Jesus, you will not find another sacrifice for sin. This is the true meaning of this passage.
If a person treats the blood of Jesus as ordinary, how can they escape sin? There are two ways to resolve sin: either bear it yourself, which leads to judgment after death, or have Jesus bear it for you by accepting what Jesus has done on the cross.
Brothers and sisters, many people have a misunderstanding that says, “Today, Jesus only forgave my sins before I believed; for sins after believing, we must confess ourselves. If we confess, God will forgive; if we do not confess, God will not forgive.” This is like saying Jesus bore part of it, and people must bear part of it. Brothers and sisters, in fact, we cannot bear the consequences of sin at all because the consequence of sin is only one—death. Jesus did not bear part of the sin; he bore all our sins. Hallelujah! The Bible says he has forgiven you all your sins.
Thank the Lord, therefore you must believe that Jesus, when he shed his precious blood on the cross, has already forgiven you all your sins. This sacrifice for sin is eternally effective. The cleansing power of the precious blood of Jesus transcends time and space. Hallelujah!
Romans 5:20 tells us, “But where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.”
So when you sin, you know that the grace of Jesus' forgiveness is once again upon you. Such love will motivate you to draw near to Jesus because you realize that every time you sin, you know Jesus forgives once again. You will continually discover the love of Christ, and this will enable you to forgive others and love Jesus more.
Brothers and sisters, when you see that Jesus has such love, you will especially want to draw near to Jesus. You will want to read the Bible, pray, and gather together. These are all ways to draw near to Jesus. The more you draw near to Jesus, the less sin can overcome you because you are always in the love of Christ. This is what we Christians need to do today. Hallelujah! Thank the Lord!
Our hearts have been sprinkled clean, thank God! You should come before God with a sincere heart and full assurance of faith. You should know that God is pleased, and you should come before God to pray with such a heart. Thank the Lord, so God finally tells us to consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, to encourage those who stop gathering to draw near to Jesus, because this is our way to overcome sin. Hallelujah!
Let us pray together:
Loving Heavenly Father, we thank and praise you. Lord, today we know that we are not under the law; we are under grace.
The issue of sin has already been resolved. You shed your precious blood on the cross, and all my sins have been forgiven. I am not justified by my own works but by the grace of Christ. Although I may still sin, I know you do not remember my sins. I am willing to repent in your love, and I believe that in Christ, your word will renew me, allowing me to live a different life, an abundant life, bringing benefit not only to myself but also to those around me.
As the new week begins, I will live with the love of Christ. This is a joyful and restful life. I believe that wherever I go, your grace is always upon me. You will help me and guide me on the right path. I look forward to good things happening to me. Thank you and praise the Lord. Glory be to you. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!
